Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of exsient.com, the Exie assistant, and the afterwords research product (together, the “Services”), operated by ExSient, a customer-experience consultancy run by Jesseh Alexander serving clients in India, the UAE, and elsewhere. By using the Services you accept these terms; if you use them for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation.

The website presents our consulting practice and library. Exie is an AI assistant that answers questions about our work and can prepare a free Experience Snapshot brief. afterwords is a self-serve customer sentiment intelligence product: a study owner creates a study, shares one interview link, Exie interviews respondents, and the owner receives an analysed dashboard. Consulting engagements (Snapshot, Diagnostic, Sprint, Partner, AI advisory, sector builds) are contracted separately in writing; where a separate agreement exists, it prevails over these terms for that engagement.

The Services deliberately avoid accounts. Access to an afterwords results dashboard is through a private link containing an unguessable token: whoever holds the link can read the results. Keep it confidential; share it only with people who should see the data. If a link is compromised, contact us and we will rotate or disable it. Lost links can be re-sent only to the study owner’s original email address.

When you create a study, you — not ExSient — decide whom to invite. You are the data fiduciary (India, DPDP Act 2023) / controller (UAE PDPL) for your respondents’ data, and ExSient processes it on your behalf. You warrant that you have a lawful basis to contact each person you invite; that you will not upload or solicit sensitive personal data (health, financial, biometric, government identifiers, or data of children); and that you will honour respondents’ requests to correct or delete their answers. We may suspend studies that appear to breach this section.

If you are answering an afterwords interview: participation is voluntary, you may stop at any time before submitting (nothing is saved until you finish), your answers go to the business that invited you, and every contact field — name, email, phone, feeling rating — is optional. Voice input is transcribed on your device; no audio is recorded or stored.

Do not use the Services to break any law; to send spam or invite people you have no right to contact; to harass, deceive, or impersonate; to probe, overload, or disrupt the Services; to scrape them; or to attempt access to data that is not yours (including guessing private links). Anti-abuse limits (such as daily study caps) are part of the Services and may change.

You keep all rights in what you submit — study questions, interview answers, briefs, conversations. You grant ExSient a limited licence to host, process, analyse, and transmit that content solely to operate the Services and deliver what you asked for, consistent with our Privacy Policy. We claim no ownership of your data and no right to sell it.

The Services — including the ExSient and afterwords names and marks, the site, the Signal Library, our frameworks, and our software — are ExSient’s property or licensed to it. You may read and share our public content with attribution; you may not copy the product, resell access, or use our marks without written permission.

Exie’s answers, afterwords analyses, scores, emotion arcs, and drafted text are generated by AI from the inputs available to it. They can be incomplete or wrong, and quotes reflect what respondents said, not verified fact. They are decision aids — not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice — and you should verify anything material before acting on it.

afterwords is offered in free early access: provided “as is” and “as available”, without uptime commitments, and its features and limits (including interview caps) may change or be discontinued. We will be honest about changes that affect stored studies and give owners a reasonable opportunity to export what is theirs.

To the fullest extent the law permits: the free Services are provided without warranties, and ExSient’s aggregate liability arising from them is limited to INR 10,000 (or the AED equivalent); for paid engagements, to the fees paid for the engagement giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or the mandatory consumer protections of your home jurisdiction, including the UAE.

If you use the Services in breach of Section 4 or 6 — most importantly, inviting respondents you had no lawful basis to contact — you will indemnify ExSient against third-party claims, penalties, and reasonable costs arising from that breach.

You may stop using the Services at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms or threatens the Services or other users, with notice where practicable. Sections 7–12 and 14 survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India — after, we would ask, a genuine attempt to resolve the matter directly with us first. If you are a consumer in the UAE, this clause does not deprive you of protections or forums mandatorily available to you under UAE law.

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above, and continued use after a change is acceptance of it. Questions, notices, and requests: hello@exsient.com.
